Stick-Insects
Op een dag, jaren geleden, kwam mijn zoon thuis met een glazen potje waarin wandelende takjes zaten. Het waren wonderlijke beestjes die uitgroeide tot wel 10 centimeter. Ze stonden in een klein terrarium op tafel . Als je ze oppakte, deden ze alsof ze dood waren en lagen doodstil in je hand. Ik begon ze te tekenen en bestudeerde ze met een loep. Ik ontdekte de schoonheid van de wandelende tak.

Stick Insects
One day, years ago, my son came home with a little glass jar containing stick insects.
They were fascinating creatures that could grow up to 10 centimeters long. We kept them in a small terrarium on the table. When you picked them up, they would pretend to be dead and lie completely still in your hand.
I started drawing them and studying them with a magnifying glass. I discovered the beauty of the stick insect.
