Robins
Er woont een roodborstje in mijn heg. Het zijn solitaire vogeltjes, klein van stuk, maar hun gezang klinkt luidkeels. Het is bedoeld om andere vogels te waarschuwen dat dit hun stukje bos is.
Ik teken graag roodborstjes. Er zit iets in hun houding dat me raakt. Zo klein en kwetsbaar, maar met zoveel kracht en eigenheid proberen ze hun ruimte in te nemen en te behouden. Ik probeer naast hun vorm en kleur, hun karakter vast te leggen.

Robins
There’s a robin living in my hedge. Robins are solitary birds, small in size, but their song sounds loud and clear. It's meant to warn other birds that this is their patch of forest.
I love drawing robins. There’s something about their posture that touches me. So small and fragile, yet full of strength and character, trying to claim and hold their space. I try to capture not just their form and color, but also their personality.

Robins
Roodborstjes komen overal in Nederland voor met uitzondering op plekken zonder bomen. In de winter kun je ze spotten in stadstuinen. Tuinen met veel struiken en kruiden, daar voelen ze zich thuis.
